QR Menu Analytics: Which Items Get Viewed and When You're Busiest

A paper menu tells you nothing. A QR menu leaves a small trace every time it's opened: which category was scrolled, which item was tapped, what time it got busy. The QR Menu → Analytics tab gathers those traces under eight headings.

1. Views and unique visitors

Views count every opening; unique visitors count the same device once per day. The ratio between the two answers the question "how many times is the menu opened at a table?". If the ratio is above 2, guests are going back to the menu before ordering; strengthen your item descriptions.

2. Most-viewed items

The number of taps on an item card. An item that gets viewed a lot but ordered rarely is either perceived as expensive or has an unappetizing photo. Swap the photo and check again a week later.

3. Most-viewed categories

A category is counted once when 40% of it becomes visible on screen. If the categories further down are never counted, guests aren't scrolling that far; reorder them or add a featured section like "Chef's picks".

4. Devices

Almost all of it will be mobile. A high tablet share means you're using tablet menus at the tables; wide layouts like "Card showcase" look better there.

5. Hourly breakdown

A strip of 24 cells; the darker the cell, the busier the hour. This is the most honest data you'll get for staff scheduling and happy-hour campaigns.

6. Social clicks

The number of clicks on links such as Instagram, WhatsApp and your website, broken down by device and hour. If WhatsApp clicks are high, bring your takeaway orders in-house with the order-from-menu feature.

7. Orders and revenue

If ordering from the menu is enabled, daily orders and total amounts appear on the same chart. If views are rising but orders aren't, there's friction in your cart flow.

Privacy

The visitor identifier is nothing more than a daily salted hash; no IP addresses or names are stored. You can shorten the retention period from the admin panel.
