Country data is empty or "Unknown"

Country is resolved from the visitor's IP. It may stay empty when:

• The site is not behind a CDN such as Cloudflare and no external GeoIP service is configured by the administrator.
• The visitor uses a VPN / Tor (counted as "Unknown").
• The data predates the configuration; old records are not back-filled.

Administrators: Admin → Settings → Statistics → Visitor location, choose a source and use Test connection.
