Currencies, languages and item options

For businesses in tourist areas, three settings make the menu stand on its own: extra currencies, extra languages and item options.

Extra currencies

Under Settings → Extra currencies enter a code (EUR, USD…) and a rate. A currency bar appears on the menu, and tapping a code shows every price at that rate.

Prices are always stored in the main currency; the rate you enter is only a display multiplier, and order totals are calculated in the main currency. Rates are not updated automatically — update them here when a rate moves noticeably.

Menu languages

Under Settings → Menu languages tick the languages you want to offer. Each language you pick adds a Translations section to the category and item dialogs, where you type the name and description.

You don't have to translate everything: a field you leave empty is shown in the main language. If a guest's browser language is one you offer, the menu opens in it straight away, and they can switch any time from the language bar. Search matches both the translation and the main language, so staff can find an item by its original name.

Item options (size / portion)

A coffee may be "Small €2.50 · Medium €3.20 · Large €3.90". In the Options section of the item dialog, enter a label and a price for each one (up to 12).

When an item has options:

  • The list shows a "from" price instead of a single figure — one price would be misleading.
  • The guest picks an option before adding to the cart; different options of the same item become separate lines.
  • If nothing is picked, the cheapest option is assumed.

Here too the price comes from the server: an order carrying an option that isn't defined is rejected.
